The honest version. Six steps, fixed-price quotes, in-house engineers, all paperwork handled. Whether it's a rewire, an EICR, solar, a battery or an EV charger, the process below is what happens.
The six-step process
Six honest steps. No high-pressure sales between any of them.
A qualified North 85 engineer visits the property — typically 60-90 minutes on-site. We check the consumer unit and supply capacity, cable routes, roof aspect and shading for solar, and where a charger or battery would sit. You get straight answers on what is worth doing.
We design the system around your survey data and electricity usage. For solar, that means a 3D shading model and month-by-month generation projection specific to your roof aspect. For a rewire, a room-by-room schedule of sockets, lighting and circuits. For EV chargers and batteries, a load assessment against your existing supply.
Once you accept the quote, we handle every piece of paperwork. Building Control notification for rewires and consumer units. G98 or G99 notification to Northern Powergrid for solar, battery and EV charger installs. OZEV chargepoint grant application where eligible. NICEIC certification and any Listed Building consent. You sign one form; we do the rest.
Our own NICEIC approved electricians complete the install. Same people who designed the job, in your house or on your site. We work around your schedule — early starts and late finishes both available where you need them. Scaffolding (for solar) comes up the day before; panels and inverter installed day 1; commissioning, DNO notification, and handover on day 2 for a typical solar install. Rewires take longer.
We hand over user guides, monitoring app logins, manufacturer warranty documentation, and any retained paperwork (NICEIC certificate, DNO acknowledgement, Building Regulations completion). For solar customers we help you register for a Smart Export Guarantee tariff. For rewires and consumer units you get the Electrical Installation Certificate and Building Control completion.
We monitor your system remotely through the manufacturer cloud platforms. If we spot underperformance, we contact you before you contact us. If you have a question or fault, you call the same office that signed your quote, not a national call centre, and the electrician who did the job comes back.
What we commit to
The trade has a deserved reputation for sales-led pricing tricks and disappearing installers. These commitments are the operating practices we use to be the opposite.
Our quote is the price you pay. No survey-day surprises, no install-day adjustments, no scope creep. Where extra work is genuinely needed (rare — typically only on listed buildings or unusual electrical supplies), we flag it before any commitment.
Every install is delivered by our own NICEIC approved electricians. We don't subcontract. That means the engineer who designed your system is the one who installs it, and the one who comes back if anything needs aftercare.
If your wiring only needs a partial rewire, we tell you. If your roof aspect doesn't justify solar, we tell you. If your consumer unit has a few years left, we tell you. We cover the whole range of electrical work specifically so we can recommend the right job rather than the one we happen to sell.
You call one number. The person who answers can see your full project history — quote, survey notes, install date, warranty registrations. No "let me transfer you to the technical team."
OZEV grant, DNO notification, NICEIC certification, Building Control, Listed Building consent, SEG registration, manufacturer warranty registration. You sign one piece of paper; we do the rest.
We work around your life. Same-day call-outs for electrical faults. Half-term scheduling for schools. Evenings and weekends for shops and offices. Out-of-hours commissioning for commercial sites. We tell you what the realistic timeline looks like upfront and we stick to it.
