Our story
North 85 is a family-run electrical contractor based at 8 Bede House, Tower Road in Washington, Tyne and Wear, set up by Lee Sheridan and his son Nate. Lee started in the trade in 1985 and has spent forty years wiring homes and businesses across the North East. Nate trained as an electrician alongside him. When the two of them found themselves working side by side every day, they put their own name over the door.
The name says it: North for where we are from and where we work, 85 for the year Lee started. The work covers everything an electrical contractor should, from a socket to a full rewire and commercial fit-out, plus the solar PV, battery storage and EV charging that are, at heart, electrical jobs done well.
Why our work is different
We don't subcontract. Every job is delivered by our own NICEIC approved electricians, the same people who surveyed and designed it. For a rewire that means a proper room-by-room plan rather than a like-for-like copy. For solar it means system design around your actual usage rather than a generic 4kW template. For EV chargers it means an install that gets the DNO notification right first time.
